New "Pay As You Go" Enrollment Option Makes Signing Up for Camp Easy and Fun

Looking for an easy, flexible and affordable way to pay for summer camp this year? Aloha Beach Camp's Keiki Camp just introduced a new way to pay for camp with a "Pay As You Go" option. That means you don't need to register or prepay for camp anymore. Now you can sign simply sign up for camp any day or days you want, and only pay by the day, too. Summer Camp 2011, Here We Come!

Today is the first day of summer camp 2011 at Aloha Beach Camp's Keiki Camp at Paradise Cove. If you've got a young child, in kindergarten, preschool or 1st or 2nd grade in Los Angeles, Keiki Camp could be a perfect summer camp fit for you. We've still got space, so here's the registration information if you want to sign up for a couple of days of camp with us this year. (Enrollment is flexible and you can sign up day by day.)

Can You Name Your Own Price for Each Day of Camp?

In general we don't have a name your own price for summer camp option for the daily rate, but we are very sensitive to the high cost of raising kids and want every child to have the opportunity to enjoy a camp experience.

Even though our "name your own price of camp" option is technically limited to buying a Season Pass, we might be able to consider it for the daily rate, too, so let us know what you're comfortable paying by emailing us at info@alohabeachcamp.com and we'll see if we can help.

What About Nap Time?

Since Aloha Beach Camp's Keiki Camp is geared specifically to younger children, sometimes campers may want to take naps at camp because they are still at that point in their lives. We don't have a scheduled nap time at camp because the days are full and we have lots of other "down time" with arts and craft projects, story time, etc.

But if anyone wants to lay down for a rest, that's perfectly fine -- we can make accommodations for that. For the most part, however, kids fall asleep on the bus on the way home because we always keep them busy at camp.

Yesterday's Open House was Fantastic!

FANTASTIC open house yesterday at Paradise Cove. Summer camp starts next month so we don't know if we'll be having any more open houses, but if this was the last one we went out with a bang. Lots of great families, fun games, and even great weather (even though it started out drizzling). We've still got space at camp, so if you want to sign up this year, let us know.

L.A. Surf Camp for Younger Kids

Did you know Keiki Campers (even as young as 3 years old) can learn to surf at camp? Surfing is on the daily activity schedule every Wednesday this summer. And parents welcome to visit us at the beach to watch your children surf.

So if your child wants to learn to surf, make sure you sign up for at least one or two Wednesdays, and soon your child will be riding the waves from the ocean all the way to the shore!

Our Keiki Camp summer camp program, which takes place in Malibu at Paradise Cove, is a rather small program serving approximately 25 kids per day. We keep the enrollment intentionally small so we can do very personal work with our campers and they get maximum enjoyment from the camp experience.

How Much Time Do The Kids Spend in the Sun?

Keiki Campers do so more at beach camp than just spend their time in the water and sun! We provide tents, canopies and umbrellas on the beach for maximum shade and comfort, and campers are encouraged to drink lots of water all day long to avoid dehydration. In general, each day is divided up into 3 "water sessions" and 2 or 3 "sand sessions." Each period lasts approximately 40 minutes. If the kids are in the water one session, the next session is spend on the sand playing organized beach games. Then they can go back in the water with our staff. Then they may come out and and have lunch or do an arts and craft project under our tents and canopies. We try to rotate the activities each day so if the kids are doing something really active, they move to a quieter activity afterward. On several Fridays each summer we provide lunch on the beach for the kids. In the past we've primarily served Chipotle Burritos as Chipotle sponsors our Los Angeles surf camp program. Summer Camps for Preschoolers

One of the prerequisites for many summer camps is that your child needs to have already attend school in order to attend the camp. Not at Aloha Beach Camp's Keiki Camp program though!

We have had many 3-year old campers in the past and welcome your young ones, too! They'll be safe and have fun at beach camp with us -- we'll take care of them like our own, that's for sure. Our only requirement is that your child is potty trained, and if so, you can sign them up for camp! Hope to see you this summer at Aloha Beach Camp's Keiki Camp program, the first and only beach camp just for little kids.

How Old Do You Need to Be for Surf Camp?

Everybody surfs at Aloha Beach Camp -- there's absolutely NO AGE LIMIT so even our very youngest Keiki Campers get to surf. And it's super safe and fun because it's completely instructional.

Our certified counselors will be with your child every step of the way teaching them the basics and fundamentals of surfing including ocean safety, surf etiquette, wave judgement and selection and more.

The Keiki Camp surfing activity takes place each Wednesday at Zuma Beach when the older kids are at Castaic Lake.

If you decide to sign up for Aloha Beach Camp's Keiki Camp this summer, be sure to choose a Wednesday or two so your son or daughter gets the chance to surf with us! :)
